Plasma Cutting Machines

The equipment (machines) for mechanized plasma cutting include:

• torch-torch (plasma cutter);
• power supply (or the installation of the device) or a cutting system, which consists of several components;
• a device for moving the plasma torch or parts;
• the system up or manage the process of cutting.

Machines (machine tools) Plasma are different:

• by design - stationary and portable;
• by the method of placing the treated leaf - portal, portal-type hinge or console;
• by the method of control - with the photomultiplier (photocopy), electro (magneto-copying) or computer numerical control (CNC);
• by type of processed products - sheet and profile rolling, pipes, etc.;
• the number of processed sheets - single, double and multi-seat.

On machines Gantry type of processed sheet is located under the chassis, called a portal.

Portal plasma cutting machine

Plasma cutters (there may be a few) are installed on the carriage, which moves in the transverse direction by means of screw. Portal through the rollers move in the longitudinal direction of the rails mounted on poles. The processed sheet is placed on the cutting table.

Portal-console machine

Caliper with a plasma torch placed on the console, which is a continuation of the trunk. Located on the trunk driving mechanism which carries out the contours of the cutting parts of the copier. In the longitudinal direction of the machine is moved by the rollers on the rails. The processed sheet is placed on the cutting table outside of the portal.

Plasma Cutting Machine Kontur-500

In plasma cutting machines, the most widely used following control methods: photoelectron, electromagnetic, and software.

In photoelectron (photocopier) management circuit components is monitored on a drawing by using a photocopier. Photocell captures a different intensity of the light flux reflected from a white background or a line drawing. This allows you to keep the lines of "sight" and photocell to track the contour drawing. The plasma torch movement repeats the photocell, cutting parts in accordance with the drawing.

Electromagnetic (magnetic-copier) control is used in machines of the hinged type. Copier consists of motor, reducer, the electromagnet and a metal rod, which is magnetized by an electromagnet and simultaneously rotates the drive. As a copier used previously cut steel parts. Due to electromagnetic forces the rod is pressed against the steel cam driven around and around it. The trajectory of a metal rod repeats hinged frame and, consequently, the plasma torch, providing details of the required clipping path.

The software allows management of cutting not only cut the details of the required circuit, but also set the cutting parameters depending on the thickness of the metal, the type of cut, etc. Applications for cutting various parts can be stored in computer memory or on removable media.
