NPO "TSNIITMASH" (Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Moscow), as part of a contract with JSC "Rosenergoatom" developed a method of ultrasonic testing of welded joints of steel pipes with thickness 2-6 mm with the use of specialized directional converters own production.

The traditional method of nondestructive testing of welded joints of pipelines radiography is based on recording the intensity transmitted through the metal of ionizing radiation on radiographic film or photographic paper. However, recently in this area begins to use its cost-effective alternative - an automated ultrasonic inspection. The new method is safe for staff and radiography is superior in performance.

The company Lincoln Electric has released a cored wire UltraCore HD-C mild steel, designed for welding in carbon dioxide (100%). New product designed for shipbuilding, and can also be used in other manufacturing processes, providing high performance welding seams, and a flat shape in all positions.
